Wednesday: Dragged by butt out of bed nice and early to see the group off. It was quite a sentimental moment. They felt like family! After that, everything was quieter, so we went for another volleyball game and a swim in the ocean, where we were confronted with two locals trying to sell cigars, considering they were soaking wet! We ran into the stallions, and the four of us went downtown. We went shopping that day to pick up some cigars and souvenirs. On the cab ride back to the resort, I thought we were going to die! The cabbie was on two wheels when he was going on the round-about. We checked out the Las Americas mall, which wanted twice the amount we paid for cigars earlier that day. We ended up having dinner with the stallions, checking out the disco, and on my last night in Cuba, fell asleep around 10:30! I was completely exhausted! Renee, Scott, and Mark ended up experiencing a truly traditional Cuban dinner at one of the employees homes. This employee and his family entertained them and they said that it was an unforgettable experience.
Thursday: I got on the bus, got on the plane, got in the cab, and went home to sit and collect these thoughts. Thanks for a great trip everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
