The Toronto Maple leafs are the centre of the hockey universe!! At least that is my humble opinion, to all of you gracious Wings and Habs fans out there.
I have been a die hard fan of the leafs through thick and thin, for many reasons. First, Toronto has so much rich history, with the hockey hall of fame and the
legendary Maple Leaf Gardens which just closed down to make way for the new Air Canada Centre, which has already seen it's share of magical hockey moments.
As for myself, I have been playing organized hockey for 15 years now. That includes every position including goal (defence is my natural position), as well as refereeing
novice hockey for the Windsor Minor Hockey Association. This season has seen a leafs roster like no other. This team consists of a large nucleus of fast young talent,
led by a proven leader in veteran Mats Sundin. The top two photos seen here are of my favourite active player Mike Johnson, whose finesse and grace is a treat to watch.
The bottom images are of Dmitri Yuskevitch (left), and scrapper Tie Domi (right). My favourite player of all time is actually Bobby Orr, a phenominal defenceman for the Boston Bruins in the 70's.
He is the only defenceman to ever win the scoring title and he managed to do it in two consecutive years.
