Monday: Had great breakfast and went for a walk on the beach with the Frisbee. As I was walking back to the motel I saw two dudes playing Frisbee with a small disc. I wondered if they spoke English or were from Europe, so I threw them my Frisbee. "Hey where's the party?" It was salvation to my ears. The English speaking population on the resort was very small. It was the Italian stallions Vince and Gino! We got juiced at the pool and decided to sign up for a trip on a river for the next day! Renee and Scott talked the twins, the stallions, and myself into the trip. Since we had to get up early, we decided to hang out in the stallions' room with the twins and listen to tunes. It is so easy to discuss life in detail with someone you have just met and live far away from.

Tuesday: Got up and had breakfast with everybody EARLY. Ray saw us off, and we were bussed to a remote location on the coast that had looked abandoned. We went snorkelling over the reef that was very close to shore. The weird thing was that someone got stung by a jellyfish! Then it was dry off and drive off to the underground cave springs. It was really nice snorkelling in there, since it was fresh water and there was no life to be seen. It was like a refreshing swim in a pool. Then it was off to the boat cruise up the river from Matanzas inland for 45 min. We saw river banks that rose 300-400 feet and was covered with tropical greenery. We then went for lunch, followed by our supposed "horseback ride", which was a five minute walk around a dirt track on a tiny horse. Well, you can't have everything! Anyways, after the boat and the bus ride home we were all exhausted. I had to hurry up and get ready, for Ray and I had reservations at the Italian restaurant on the complex. We had a great meal and met up with everybody in the lobby. Since it was the last night for the English group in Cuba, we got the party started. Almost all of the pictures on this web page are of this moment in the week. From there, 16 of us went to Havana Club one last time for yet another insane $10 night. Everybody was dancing everywhere and spilling their drinks everywhere!
